Andrea founded Pure Communications in June 2004 with the intent of building a boutique agency focused on life sciences. With more than 17 years of public relations, marketing, investor and advocacy relations experience, she brings a wealth of corporate and product communications expertise to Pure's clients. As CEO she is involved in the strategic management, planning and positioning of select client accounts with hands-on involvement in key efforts. In addition, Andrea is committed to building high performance teams to deliver the highest quality results and service to Pure’s clients.
After years spent as an executive at companies including DeVries Public Relations, aaiPharma, Bayer and Ketchum Public Relations, Andrea brings a clear understanding of the need for communications activities to align with and help drive the business and commercial objectives of an organization. In addition to the emerging company and small to mid-cap company experience represented by Pure's client base, Andrea has significant therapeutic brand experience in women's health, oncology, metabolic disorders and diseases of aging, as well as industry experience in diagnostics and medical imaging. She has led communications campaigns and crisis teams for well-known product and corporate brands including Immitrex, Valtrex, Premarin, Coumadin, Tylenol, Nicotrol, Glucophage, Cardiolite, Pfizer, Bayer, GSK and DuPont.
Jim joined Pure Communications in 2006 after more than 15 years in management consulting and pharmaceutical operations with IBM Global Business Services (and predecessor PwC Consulting) and aaiPharma. As COO, Jim oversees all aspects of the firm’s infrastructure including finance, human resources, information technology and contracts. A graduate of the American University Kogod School of Business, Jim possess an MBA in marketing and an undergraduate degree in finance.
Jennifer's career spans more than 15 years and includes roles on Wall Street and in investor relations. She joined the Pure network in 2008 and leads the investor relations practice from New York City.
Most recently, Jennifer was a managing director at EVC Group, an investor relations firm based in San Francisco, Calif. While at EVC Group, she created and led the investor relations programs for a variety of small- and micro-cap companies; building their institutional investor bases, sell-side research coverage and carefully helping her clients craft their Wall Street-ready stories. Jennifer also spent a large portion of her career at global Wall Street firms including Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse First Boston and Griffin Kubik Stephens and Thompson (recently acquired by BMO Capital Markets).
Jennifer attended Smith College in Northampton, Mass. and was previously NASD Series 7 and 63 accredited.
Dan Budwick joined Pure in September 2009 as vice president of media relations and senior account director after over ten years of experience focused on creating and implementing corporate communications and media relations strategies for biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device and medical technology companies.
Most recently, Dan worked for over six years at BMC Communications Group, where he served as the direct contact for his clients’ management teams, counseling them through various corporate, product and crisis communications scenarios and announcements. He managed their day-to-day account work, and oversaw the conceptualization and execution of several high-profile media relations campaigns and opportunities. Previously, Dan worked for three years at Morgen-Walke Associates, where he focused on medical device and healthcare services companies.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Marist College.
Keri's role at Pure focuses on delivering stellar results to our clients. She is responsible for brainstorming and building innovative communications strategy and then mapping out and managing the day-to-day structure and activity to execute on that strategy. Keri brings more than a decade of experience in journalism, marketing, economic development, public relations and investor relations to Pure clients. Her Master's degree in journalism and expertise from her days at a PR/IR agency and in-house as a director of corporate communications allows Keri to counsel clients through nearly any communications situation, keeping an eye on the big picture, while never losing sight of the account and activity detail. Keri is based in Philadelphia, Pa.
Michele is a hands-on, senior-level, results-oriented communications professional with more than 15 years of strategic communications experience with a focus on life sciences including biotech/pharmaceutical, medical device and diagnostics companies. Since joining the Pure network in 2008, Michele has led the agency's Boston area presence, leading several product-focused and emerging company accounts. She has a proven track record of developing and leading innovative and impactful strategic communications campaigns that build positive profile and visibility. Michele’s expertise runs the gamut from corporate and brand communications, media and advocacy relations, marketing communications, executive and employee communications, to crisis and issues management.
Sheryl Seapy is a specialist in national business, industry trade and consumer media relations with nearly two decades experience in building visibility campaigns for companies in the pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences and medical device industries. Since joining the Pure network in 2005, Sheryl has leveraged her storytelling abilities to help translate and communicate clients' technical and often complex science into compelling and innovative story ideas for reporters that convey the passion, excitement, momentum and vision held by management, researchers and key opinion leaders within the industry.
By leveraging her network of media relationships, Sheryl's proactive media outreach efforts on behalf of clients have resulted in the placement of stories in a variety of media outlets including Wall Street Journal, New York Times, BusinessWeek, Financial Times, Forbes, CNBC, Economist, Investor's Business Daily, Reader's Digest, Dow Jones Newswires, Barron's, Fortune, Associated Press, Pharmaceutical Executive, Newsweek, Bloomberg Business News, and other national, industry trade, international and regional media outlets.
Previously, Sheryl led the in-house executive management team's corporate communications program at global design software firm Autodesk and served as vice president and group director of media relations with leading financial communications agency FD Morgen-Walke Associates, where she focused on small- to mid-cap healthcare and technology companies. Sheryl is based in Newport Beach, California.
As Associate Director of Media Relations at Pure Communications, Ashlea Kosikowski develops and executes media relations strategies, which has resulted in coverage for Pure clients in major media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, in addition to major medical trade publications. Ashlea also manages website, corporate video and b-roll production and her video has aired on programs such as ABC's Nightline and CNBC. In 2009, Ashlea was named Pure Communications' "Rookie of the Year." Prior to joining Pure, Ashlea worked as a television news reporter, most recently at WSOC-TV in Charlotte, NC, the 25th largest television news market in the U.S. During her career as a journalist, Ashlea also worked in radio and newspaper newsrooms.
Ashlea received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
Caton joined Pure Communications in 2007 and as Associate Director, Client Service, works closely with a number of Pure clients across various therapeutic areas, but primarily focusing in oncology. Caton serves as the primary day-to-day account contact managing activities including press release development, targeted media relations, website development, strategic planning and message development. Prior to joining Pure, Caton worked at Ketchum Public Relations in Washington, D.C., first as part of the Public Affairs department, and then as a member of the Social Marketing department, where she implemented social marketing and public education campaigns for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Caton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, Public Relations from North Carolina State University.
Holly Manning joined Pure in 2009 and as an assistant account executive her role focuses on providing account support for a variety Pure clients, including media list development, media and social media monitoring, extensive research projects, creative project management and event coordination. Holly specializes in coordinating digital market research and social media initiatives for Pure and our clients. Prior to joining the company, Holly worked for a boutique public relations firm in North Carolina,where she provided media relations, event management, social media and issues management support.
Holly has a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
As Director of Digital Media, Kirsty Piper oversees website development projects and advises on social media strategies for select Pure clients. Prior to joining Pure, Kirsty spent several years at boutique public relations and advertising firms in North Carolina and Florida. Throughout her public relations career, Kirsty has managed accounts, launched PR campaigns, led issues management efforts and coordinated events on behalf of clients across a variety of industries including healthcare, manufacturing, food service, real estate, finance, non-profit and more.
In 2005 she began blogging, which cultivated her interest in leveraging digital media tools to propel communication strategies that help companies grow. Today she counsels Pure clients on creative ways to reach key audiences and build brands in the ever-changing digital and social media landscape.
Kirsty received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Florida State University.
Katie Wilson joined Pure Communications in April 2008 after several years as a freelance journalist. As an account executive, Katie is responsible for day-to-day account management activities for select clients and oversees Pure's media monitoring program. Katie also serves as the team's Associated Press style editor, ensuring compliance for all written materials intended for media consumption. Before joining Pure, Katie helped to launch an Internet startup company, overseeing all of its marketing initiatives.
Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and a Certificate in Professional Writing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
